TRADERS
BUSINESS TRADERS

We have everything you need.

If you actively trade securities, commodities, futures and/or currencies as a business (or as a part-time second business or job), our firm has all the tax and accounting products, software and services (tax, accounting and legal) that you will need.

Whether you trade for yourself, in an entity, for a proprietary trading firm or hedge fund, we are the firm to see. We also have a full line of services for investors who fall short of trader tax status and business treatment.

Learn the differences between retail and proprietary trading in our section for proprietary traders. Click here.

From self-help to full service, we care about traders! Just listen to our customers.

Education Center: We recommend that you first visit our education center to learn a few things about trader tax status and many trader tax and other benefits. If you are the type that wants to figure trader tax accounting and prepare your annual income tax returns on your own, we have some great guides, books and software for you. Check out our best-selling and industry-leading GTT Trader Tax Guides and Book and GTT TradeLog trade accounting software.

Preparation: Preparation and planning of federal and state income tax returns for traders (retail, proprietary and hedge funds– individuals and entities) is our core business. We guarantee that the value you receive will be higher than our price.

Consulting: Trader tax status, mark to market accounting, entities and other trader tax topics are complex and nuanced. Green's new book (below) is an excellent start, but many traders have more questions afterwards. Get the expert answers you need directly from the author.

Accounting: Get rid of your accounting headaches. We have the best software and customized worksheets, period. Visit our preparation area to learn about trade accounting needs for tax returns and to learn about our worksheets.

GTT TradeLog Accounting Software: This is our sixth year co-developing the industry-leading trader tax accounting software (Barron's positively reviewed and recommended it several years each of the past few years). Download your trades and make this tax season a snap.

GTT TradeLog is rated the best program for active traders. It's easy to use yourself, but for busy traders with profits on their mind, let us do the downloads and full accounting for you. Make this year's taxes, the easiest ever.

Entities: Entities are attractive for traders for a variety or reasons including: help with trader tax status; flexibility on mark-to-market accounting elections; continuity of ownership and protection; retirement plan and health insurance deductions; and incubator hedge fund strategies. Few professionals understand all the nuances for traders and any cookie cutter entity won't due. We customize your entity for your specific needs and you can't beat our price.

Proprietary Trading: Prop trading tax and business issues are complex and highly nuanced. Few professionals understand all the issues and we have all the answers you need. Whether you are joining a prop trading firm or setting one up yourself, we can help you.

Retirement Plans: A Mini 401K Plan is ideal for traders, because you can maximize your income tax savings versus payment of SE taxes. Learn about all types of retirement plans for traders and how to actively trade your retirement plans as well.

IRS exam representation: Traders are being increasingly examined by the IRS, and many uneducated IRS agents are causing havoc. Don't reply to an IRS notice or inquiry without first seeking our help. We may be able to get your exam "reconsidered" (closed) before it even starts. We also help you with your home state if they come calling.

If you have any questions about our services for traders, please email info@greencompany.com or call us.

GTT offers active traders a full trader tax solution

Barron's and CNBC address a key problem for traders and credit GTT with the best full trader tax solution.

Barron's and CNBC featured Robert A. Green, CPA in several stories highlighting a "missing tax link" between brokers and their trader clients. The missing link is that many online brokers and direct-access brokers don't currently provide sufficient tax information and tax reporting to their active trader customers. Their trader customers are lost at tax time and they end up not receiving all the tax benefits they are entitled to under the new trader tax laws.

GTT has been listening and recently entered alliances with two leading direct-access brokers to fix this "missing link" problem. GTT entered alliances with Schwab's CyberTrader and Terra Nova Trading to build and power their new Tax Centers for active traders. These direct-access brokers are also offering GTT TradeLog, our software program to import and reconcile trading transactions.

Barron's June 2, 2001 article on direct-access brokers ranked TerraNovaOnline 2nd out of a dozen direct-access brokers. One of the positive factors in the Barron's ranking was GTT's new Tax Center for Terra Nova, "Terra Nova recently rolled out a tax-information page, which will feature columns by day-trading tax experts."

The GTT full trader tax solution.

Now traders can easily import all their trading transactions directly from most online brokers and direct-access brokers into our GTT TradeLog software program. Using our GTT TradeLog online support, traders can reconcile their GTT TradeLog reports to their brokerage firm Form 1099s (tax reports). Using GTT's Education and Tax Centers, Guides and Services traders have all the help they need to learn about all the new trader tax laws and benefits, elect the best trader tax status, and file the best trader tax return possible to receive the highest amount of tax relief possible. Traders, get the education and help you need at GTT - you deserve tax refunds today!
